Haileyville council extends emergency-management contract, approves July bills and names Vicki Allen council president

The Haileyville City Council on Aug. 12 unanimously approved several routine motions, extended its emergency-management contract with Pittsburg County and elected Vicki Allen as council president.

Mayor Catherine Bailey-Morgan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the clerk recorded a full council: Vicki Allen, Danny Karr, Debbie Brown, Terry Sensibaugh, Johnny Joe James, Malisia Doyle and Norman Lawson.

Council business included a motion by Johnny Joe James, seconded by Debbie Brown, to amend how the city pays July bills. The roll call recorded seven "Yes" votes (Vicki Allen, Debbie Brown, Norman Lawson, Danny Karr, Terry Sensibaugh, Johnny Joe James and Malisia Doyle); the minutes state the motion passed 7-0.
