Anthem board approves Republic Services addendum with 3% annual increases through 2029

The Anthem Community Council Board of Directors voted June 24 to adopt Resolution 2026-R-07, approving an addendum to the Republic Services contract for the Maricopa County side of Anthem that includes a 3% annual rate increase for 2027 through 2029.
Executive Director Aaron Baker presented comparative rate information to the board at the Anthem Civic Building, noting Phoenix-side rates are higher than the proposed Republic Services rates for the Maricopa side. Area Vice President Alberto Guardado of Republic Services addressed the board and thanked the Anthem community for the ongoing partnership.
Director Bob McKenzie moved to adopt the resolution; Director Laura Hartman seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The addendum takes effect according to the terms presented at the meeting; the board did not modify the rate schedule during the discussion. The board recorded no public opposition during the meeting.
