The House Judiciary Committee paused action on two election-related items.
Mr. Clemens reported that members were still receiving substantial comment on H.3176 and moved to adjourn debate until the next committee agenda; the motion passed. For H.3197, Clemens moved to recommit the bill to the elections and ethics law subcommittee for an additional hearing after requests from individuals and groups; the committee approved the recommitment and asked interested parties to leave contact information with the committee office.
Both procedural motions were adopted and H.3197 will receive at least one more subcommittee hearing before full committee consideration.
