Chancellor trustees approve $215,000 South Lincoln Rural Water contract; board hears water-project update

DGR representative Trent Bruce briefed trustees on Phase 3 construction planning, the possibility of adding a water tower to the local distribution system, considerations about a FEMA storm shelter and upcoming grant-application deadlines tied to those projects. Bruce framed the items as construction- and funding-related notes that will guide next steps, including contract execution and grant timelines.
Trustee Heath McManaman moved to approve the revised SLRWS agreement for $215,000; Trustee Zachary Knock seconded, and the motion carried with all voting in favor. The board discussed the contract in the context of DGR’s update but did not record additional conditions in the meeting minutes.

The trustees opened a public hearing at 8:56 p.m. to receive sealed bids for an approximately 11-acre agricultural land lease described in Resolution #2025-01, but no members of the public attended and the hearing was closed at 8:58 p.m. The public notice specifies the lease term (March 11, 2025–March 10, 2026), an option to renew for additional one-year terms not to exceed five years total, and a sealed-bid deadline of 5:00 p.m. on March 11, 2025 at the Town Office.
Other business included a maintenance report from Casey Frazier on snow-removal procedures and field reservations for the upcoming sports season, and a finance update from Finance Officer Mindy Lafontaine on the town audit and SECOG correspondence. The board reviewed a claims list presented by the finance officer before adjourning. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
