Council approves preliminary plat for Silver Sage Commercial Subdivision
Summary
The Preston City Council approved the preliminary plat for the Silver Sage Commercial Subdivision (commercial portion only). Planning staff noted secondary-water questions and pipeline routing that developers must resolve before the residential portion is submitted.
Director of City Planning and Land Use Shawn Oliverson presented the preliminary plat for the Silver Sage Commercial Subdivision and told the council that current approval covers only the commercial section; the planned residential portion will be considered later.
Oliverson said Consolidated Irrigation Company reported there is not secondary water listed under this subdivision’s name, though secondary water is assumed to be present. He advised the council and developers that pipeline locations through and around the property must be addressed; he also stated the commercial section does not require secondary water for the current approval. Councilmember Todd Thomas moved to approve the preliminary plat as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission; Councilmember Chris Larsen seconded, and the council voted unanimously to approve the commercial preliminary plat.
