The Town of Chancellor Board of Trustees approved several administrative and governance items on Jan. 14, 2025.
Trustee Heath McManaman moved and the board approved Eich Law as the town attorney for 2025 and adopted the Eich Law 2025 contract. The board held the first reading of Ordinance 2025-1-14 to amend Ordinance 1.0203 to move monthly meetings to the second Tuesday of each month; McManaman moved to approve the first reading, Zachary Knock seconded and the first reading passed. The minutes indicate the ordinance’s second reading will be at the Feb. 11 meeting.
The board set the annual municipal election date for April 8, 2025, approved the New Era for town publications for 2025 and designated Security State Bank as the town depository, each action approved by motion. The board also adopted 2025 payable rates: $90 per regular board meeting, $45 per special board meeting, $20/hour for part-time maintenance help, $52,000/year for a full-time maintenance position plus $600 toward health insurance premiums, and $30/hour for a finance officer position. Trustee Heath McManaman moved to approve the payable rates; Trustee Bailey Ludens seconded and the motion carried.
Minutes record these items as approved; the first reading of the ordinance does not constitute final adoption. The minutes do not include the text of the Eich Law contract beyond noting approval, nor do they list an effective date for the payable rates beyond their adoption at the Jan. 14 meeting.
