Monee trustees approve park contractor payments, adopt fencing variance and vote to dismiss employee

Administrator Ruben told the board staff and project engineers reviewed invoices and recommended payment of $93,966.00 to Raindrop Products for splash-pad installation, and certified payment of $117,000.00 to Metropolitan Corporation for Phase 2 park work. He also recommended final payment of $15,585.33 to Earthworks Land Improvement & Development Corporation for the McCorkle Pond bank restoration; Robinson Engineering and Farnsworth Group had reviewed the files and found the work in compliance with plans and specifications.
"We recommend that Raindrop Products is entitled to payment in the amount of $93,966.00," Administrator Ruben said during the meeting. Trustees voted to approve each pay request by voice roll call.
On unfinished business, the board adopted a variance ordinance related to residential fencing after Plan & Zoning recommended approval. A trustee summarized the inspection: "Director Beckvar had to go and look at it and inspect it and let the occupants know that it had to be certain feet away from the road" and the resident agreed to set the corner back and taper it to preserve sight lines. The board recorded the ordinance as Ordinance No. 2149.
The meeting also included personnel action. After convening an executive session under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), the board returned and approved a motion to dismiss a specific employee for violation of company policies; members recorded affirmative roll-call votes on that motion.
