Cloud Lake's Town Council scheduled a special meeting for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18 to consider the sale and development of the former Newell property at 202 Shannondale Road.
Meeting materials indicate the property was sold to Ray Pola, a local builder and owner of nearby homes at 200 Shannondale and 112 Wilson Road. Pola has requested purchase of the town-owned remaining Lot 10 in exchange for transferring his ownership of a water area that contains a littoral shelf at The Preserve. The council will visit the property during the special meeting and return to Town Hall for a wrap-up session. Town Attorney William P. Doney will prepare a memorandum on the matter but will not attend the site visit.
Council did not decide on the exchange at the Jan. 9 meeting; the Jan. 18 special meeting is intended to provide councilmembers firsthand observation of the site and to inform their deliberations.
