Cloud Lake council approves consent agenda, authorizes 2025 election agreement

Cloud Lake's Town Council unanimously approved its consent agenda and authorized the mayor to sign the town's 2025 Municipal Election Agreement at a meeting on Jan. 9, 2025.
Council Member Kathleen Hoock moved to approve the Dec. 12, 2024 meeting minutes and accept the Jan. 9 clerk's and financial reports; Council Member Alexandra Powell-Sardinas seconded the motion, which passed 4-0 with Council Member John Tyson absent. Later in the meeting Hoock moved and Powell-Sardinas seconded a motion authorizing Mayor Russ Nidy to sign the annual agreement required by the Supervisor of Elections; that motion also passed 4-0 with Tyson absent.
The council received routine monthly activity reports from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The sheriff's office noted several calls, including a suspicious-call investigation on Shannondale Road, a blocked trailer incident, a false alarm and a domestic disturbance. Fire Rescue reported one medical call with a response time of 1 minute, 30 seconds. Code Enforcement announced a Special Magistrate hearing scheduled for Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. for 100 E. Chandler Road.
The meeting adjourned at 7:59 p.m. after the council approved the close on a 4-0 vote with Tyson absent.
