Selectmen approve MOU for pavilion, ventilator purchase, tree contract and schedule solid waste fee hearing

At its June 24 meeting the Gilford Board of Selectmen approved several routine administrative and procurement actions.
The board approved and signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Public Safety Services at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. The Selectmen also approved the purchase of a Zoll Z Vent portable ventilator for Gilford Fire‑Rescue at $16,928.58, to be paid from the ambulance revolving fund.
Selectman Benavides moved to approve a contract extension with John C. Brown for 2026 tree work at $2,000 per day plus $100 for crane work; the motion passed 3‑0. The board accepted the recommendation to present an updated Solid Waste Center fee schedule at a public hearing on July 22 and kept current Solid Waste Center hours unchanged.
The board approved the Lakes Region Public Access (LRPA) annual agreement and authorized the Town Administrator to sign, but the motion passed 2‑0‑1 with Chair Dale Channing Eddy abstaining; the minutes record the abstention but do not give a reason. Other routine approvals included a religious property tax exemption for Central Baptist Church totaling $1,360 and signing a 2026 Unlicensed Dog Warrant.
Selectmen thanked staff for bringing forward the items and recorded unanimous or recorded votes as noted in the minutes. No controversial disagreement or public comment was recorded on these items in the minutes.
