Gilford water board appoints clerk, approves PS6 upgrades, vendor payments and paving contract

The Gunstock Acres Village Water District on May 19 unanimously approved a string of motions to staff the district, fund upgrades and pay vendors.
Lou Combe moved to appoint John Mattes as GAVWD clerk for a one-year term; the motion passed 5-0. The board also approved a plan to reposition a curb stop and valve at 24 Briarcliff from the roadway to the lawn and to reimburse the homeowner for paving after the district receives a formal estimate.
The board approved funding to replace the main distribution line associated with Pump Station 6 and to proceed with programming and communication upgrades. Commissioner Brian McCall emphasized the work on the main distribution line and associated plumbing must be completed by the State of New Hampshiredeadline of May 31, 2026; programming upgrades will proceed separately.
Financial actions approved included payment of LRWfor April services in the amount of $24,889.94, and two LRW invoices: #104145 for $6,750.00 and #104146 for $7,279.55. The board accepted monthly reports for May and approved the prior meeting minutes, all by unanimous vote.
The board authorized Joe Geraci to create and submit a request for proposals to solicit an exclusive paving contractor agreement for district-required paving work and accepted a proposal to hire Good N U Dirt Works to pave 10 sites with a deposit of $8,250 and the balance due on completion.
The board also corrected billing for combined parcels at 3 and 9 Oakland Ave: because the parcels were legally combined, only one annual water bill of $880 will be issued to Edward Malin at 9 Oakland Ave and the $220 charge for 3 Oakland will not be billed for 2026.
The meeting adjourned at about 8:48 p.m.
