Youth council advances plans for student-led market and small lending libraries

Members also discussed vendor outreach (local food trucks, Kona Ice, Publix) and whether the event should pair student-run booths with a few family-oriented vendors.
Operational items raised: identify two start sites from the existing list of city-owned parks; check club-rush and school courtyard opportunities for youth-council outreach; prepare sign-up sheets and posters; and invite Leisure Services to the next meeting for guidance on whether to join an existing city market or pursue a standalone event (which requires more approvals).
Separately, the council moved to adopt the task-force minutes from the prior meeting; the motion was recorded and the clerk called the roll. Chair adjourned the meeting at 4:47 p.m.
