A resident at the July 9 Potter County Commissioners meeting asked the board to hold meetings during evening hours to make attendance easier for members of the public unavailable during the day. Commissioner Nancy Grupp said the meeting on July 9 was a regularly scheduled session and clarified it was not related to data centers, responding to public confusion.
Commissioner Robert Rossman noted that evening meetings had been held in the past but drew low attendance despite advertising. After the exchange, Commissioner Grupp proposed holding a quarterly evening town-hall meeting to improve accessibility. Commissioner Grupp moved to table adoption of the 2027 commissioners meeting schedule so the board can consider the proposal; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Rossman and carried unanimously.
The board did not set dates for evening town halls at this meeting; instead, it directed County Administration to return the 2027 meeting schedule for further discussion at a future meeting. The next regular commissioners meeting was set for July 23, 2026.
