Kiowa council approves RV placement on Dewey, schedules cleanup and holiday events, updates bank signers

The council approved RV placement on the south end of Dewey Street, scheduled Kiowa Clean-Up Days (Oct. 16–18), agreed to co-host Halloween and set the town Christmas party, and changed authorized bank signers to five officials.
At its Sept. 25 meeting the Town of Kiowa approved several routine administrative and community items: placement of RVs on the south end of Dewey Street, Kiowa Clean-Up Days on Oct. 16–18, co-hosting Halloween festivities on Oct. 31, the annual Christmas party on Dec. 13 at Los Tarascos Restaurant in McAlester, and an update to authorized bank signers.
Dennis McMath asked the council to record prior approval to permit RVs on the south end of Dewey Street; the council carried the motion to approve placement of RVs on that property. Council approved Kiowa Clean-Up Days for Oct. 16–18 and agreed to co-host Halloween activities with First Bank, Police and Fire on Oct. 31. The annual Christmas party was set for Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. at Los Tarascos Restaurant in McAlester.
Council also voted to have five authorized signers on town accounts: Mayor D. Drake, Vice Mayor J. Ray, Treasurer J. Hasty, PWA Clerk L. Shows and Court Clerk B. Battles. A separate agenda item on the city purchasing process was tabled for further consideration. The council also tabled a $4,331.90 invoice from Dustin Shields for a hay sickle.
