On a motion by Mayor D. Drake and a second from Vice Mayor J. Ray, the council voted unanimously to adopt the revised Code, including repeal and adoption of specified provisions.
The council also approved amendments for ordinances tied to Phil Hatridge, Mary Trammel and Patrick Griffin (motion by D. Drake, second by T. Horn), and separately approved amendments for Danny Drake and Brenda Phipps (motion by J. Ray, second by T.S. Barker). Each measure carried on unanimous votes.
Why it matters: adopting a consolidated, corrected code clarifies local rules for residents and town staff and clears the way for the town attorney to review formatting and legal citations before final publication. The council recorded that attorney approval was pending before the finalized book is released.
