Leacock supervisors appoint Michael Stoltzfus, approve routine measures and grant 90-day project extension

The Leacock Township Board of Supervisors met on July 7, 2026, and approved a series of routine administrative measures, appointed a new Planning Commission member and granted a 90-day extension for a development project.

Chairman Mike Sensenig called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The board unanimously approved the minutes of the June 15, 2026 meeting after a motion by James Donovan, seconded by Carl Smucker. The board also unanimously approved the bills to pay list (motion by Donovan; seconded by Smucker) and accepted the treasurer's report (motion by Don Gentzler; seconded by James Donovan).

On appointments, Chairman Sensenig reported interviews had been conducted for an open seat on the township Planning Commission. The board voted unanimously to appoint Michael Stoltzfus to the Planning Commission for a term ending Jan. 1, 2029; the motion was made by Carl Smucker and seconded by Don Gentzler.

Zoning Officer Joe Kennedy requested the board add an emergency agenda item: a request for a time extension on the Center Street/Cross Keys project because the prior extension deadline was July 7, 2026. The board added the item and, on a motion by Frank Howe seconded by James Donovan, granted a 90-day time extension; the motion carried unanimously.

Township Manager Chris Slaymaker presented an operational report including details about the 2026 Chevrolet dump truck and ongoing roadwork. Assistant Chief Esh of the Intercourse Fire Company and Deputy Chief Dave Johnson of the Pequea Valley Fire Department each provided financial and operational reports. Property owner Thomas Ngo raised concerns about major repairs needed at 3554 Old Philadelphia Pike and was advised to work with the Zoning Officer.

There being no further business, the board adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
