Krebs planning panel approves rezoning and two home permits, tables alley and apartment requests

At its Dec. 3 meeting the City of Krebs Planning and Zoning Commission recommended rezoning a parcel from commercial to residential and approved two single-house building permits; it tabled an alley vacation request and a proposed nine-unit apartment project pending corrected surveys and state/utility approvals.
The City of Krebs Planning and Zoning Commission on Dec. 3 voted unanimously to recommend rezoning Block 202, Lots 6–9 from C-1 commercial to R-1 residential and approved two single-house building permits for 375 SE 3rd and 605 SW 6th.
Commissioner Larry Coxsey moved to recommend the rezoning; Committee member Richard Cotton seconded and the motion passed on a 5–0 vote. Richard Cotton moved and Dana DeFrange seconded the motion to recommend approval of the building permit for 375 SE 3rd; that vote also passed 5–0. Chairman Mark Moy moved to recommend approval of the permit for 605 SW 6th; Dana DeFrange seconded and the commission approved unanimously.
The panel tabled two items. Resident Mark Kirby requested closure of an alley near 650 NW Harrison so he can purchase and clear encroaching structures; commissioners said the survey appears incorrect and asked for a resurvey showing property lines and any utilities. Commissioner Larry Coxsey moved to table the alley vacation until the applicant provides a corrected survey; Richard Cotton seconded and the motion to table passed 5–0.
Separately, the commission also tabled a proposed nine-unit apartment project at 270 Electric pending additional documentation (see separate article). The commission asked applicants and staff to provide state fire marshal documentation, a detailed survey showing setbacks and any DEQ or utility permits required to bore a water line under the highway before the commission will reconsider either item. The commission indicated it will call a special meeting if the requested materials are received.
