Krebs planning commission approves shop permit, approves minutes and schedules alley-vacation review

The Krebs Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 1 approved routine minutes, recommended a building permit for a new shop, placed an alley-vacation inquiry on next month’s agenda for fact-finding and then adjourned.
Commission member Larry Coxsey moved to approve the Sept. 3, 2024 meeting minutes; Richard Cotton seconded and the commission voted unanimously to accept them.
The commission considered a building-permit recommendation for construction of a 30 x 50 shop at 105 SW 1st St. Richard Cotton moved to recommend approval and James Garigin seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
Mark Kirby asked the commission about vacating an alley adjacent to the Baker estate at Electric and Harrison so he could purchase the lot and avoid tearing down an existing shop on the parcel. Chairman Mark Moy explained that closing an alley typically awards half the vacated alley to the adjacent property owner but that permanent structures are not permitted on vacated alley areas without additional legal steps; he asked that the matter be placed on next month’s agenda for further review.
Commission member Larry Coxsey moved to adjourn; James Garigin seconded and the meeting was adjourned by unanimous vote.
