Chairman Tommy Ray Walker called the meeting to order and the board voted to approve the Oct. 15 minutes after Board member David Bailey moved to adopt them and Connie Poole seconded. Chairman Walker then asked the board to approve claims; Treasurer Micheal Fulgium had printed the packets for signature and, after a motion by Dan Heathcock and a second from David Bailey, the board voted to approve the claims.
Mike Kern, the authority’s accountant, presented the financial statements for the four months ending Oct. 31, 2024, reporting total revenues of $448,662.51 and operating expenses of $419,500.97, producing an operating income of $29,161.54. Kern said the authority was “gaining a little ground,” and Chairman Walker added, “alright we made some money.”
During the financial review, resident Gay Bynum Campbell raised a question about a deadline referenced in a letter she had received and said she had not gotten firm dates in writing. Dennis Cook, a meeting participant, responded that the council had already allowed six months for the matter and stated, “you have until the 15th of March.” Board member Dan Heathcock said his calculation aligned closer to March, and Chairman Walker moved the meeting back to the agenda after the clarification.
In other remarks, Heathcock praised Krebs employees as “doing an excellent job.” Chairman Walker said he personally arranged cleanup of a property across from his house at no expense to the city and noted a separate council vote concerns additional cleanup for lots seven and eight; he said implementation of that work falls to code enforcement.
The board adjourned after a final vote. No formal actions beyond approving the minutes and claims were recorded, and no new business items were added to the agenda.
