On Aug. 27, 2024 the River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors adopted its Fiscal Year 2024/2025 budget and a companion special-assessments resolution and approved several routine motions.
District Manager Chuck Adams said the budget included scrivener errors in the published agenda and the board amended the document before voting. After a public hearing at which no property owners spoke, the board adopted Resolution 2024-07 relating to annual appropriations for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024 and ending Sept. 30, 2025, on a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly. The motion passed with all in favor.
Counsel Tony Pires opened a public hearing on Resolution 2024-08, making a determination of benefit and imposing special assessments for fiscal year 2024/2025. The board agreed to delete references to “Exhibit B” in the resolution and then adopted the amended resolution on a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly; the vote was unanimous.
Other motions approved unanimously included authorizing Supervisor Bob Schultz’s telephonic participation, amending the agenda to move the Premier Lakes update earlier in the meeting, and approving the July 23, 2024 regular meeting minutes as amended. The board also accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expires Nov. 2026) and instructed staff to solicit candidates to fill the unexpired term by e-blasting residents about qualifications and the application process.
What happens next: Resolutions and budget documents become effective as posted; staff will proceed with outreach for candidates for Seat 1 and will include follow-up items (including stormwater issues raised by residents) on future agendas.
