Town Manager reports coliform detection cleared by follow-up tests; sludge reimbursement and water repairs planned

Town Manager Judy Frazier reported several infrastructure and operations items during the Selectboard’s Dec. 8 meeting.
Frazier said the state notified the town that a water sample taken at 18 Gibb Street tested positive for coliform. The town took follow-up samples by Dec. 3 at 18 Gibb Street, 14 School Street, 28 Gibb Street and at the well house; all follow-up samples came back clear, according to the minutes.
Frazier also said the town planned to meet with engineers and state representatives on Dec. 9 to review a sludge removal project and to prepare two reimbursement applications. Separately, she reported that town crews dug at St. Dominics on Dec. 1 to repair a water pipe; South Street experienced two days without water and the town issued a boil-water notice (the notice listed Dec. 3 at 8:45 a.m.).
Other departmental notes: Frazier told the board that some residents had placed trash in recycling bins and the contractor Casella would not pick up contaminated bins; she praised public works for effective snow clearing; and she said the town is applying to MRP for funds to replace park lights and is seeking cost estimates for lights and electrical installation.
No public comment was recorded during the meeting. The Selectboard did not enter executive session.
