Councilman Anderson listed inductees to the Woodbridge Hall of Fame across local high schools and said an interview with inductee Justin Hines (noted as a Super Bowl champion coach) will air Aug. 1 on township channels.
Councilman Patel described the July 16 ribbon-cutting for the newly reconstructed Merritt Park community and fitness playground, thanking county and township departments for the collaboration; he also laid out parade logistics: - Indian Parade (Indian Business Association) will take place Sunday, Aug. 9, with the route kept on Oakley Road and direction changed to reduce disruption; closures expected for about 1.5 to 2 hours (approximately 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). - Pakistani Parade (Pakistani Community of New Jersey) will take place Sunday, Aug. 16; most activity will occur in Addison with only one block of Oakley Road in Islin closed for about 1 to 1.5 hours (around 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
Councilman Harris noted senior services events including property-tax relief application days that helped seniors complete tax-relief forms, which he said saved township seniors roughly $12,000,000 from the state program this past year; he also promoted the New Jersey Senior Olympics and recent community running events.
Council members asked residents to follow posted signs and police directions during closures and emphasized safety and efforts to reduce traffic impacts during parade events. The meeting then continued with routine administrative reports and an adjournment motion.
