Smithton trustees approve SOIL Excavating contract with 10% performance-bond amendment

Trustee James Elbe moved and Trustee Charles Rogers seconded approval of a contract with SOIL Excavating amended to require a 10% performance bond; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call at the July 7 Village of Smithton board meeting.
The board also approved routine business by unanimous votes, including the minutes from the June 16 meeting, authorization for the Finance Clerk and Treasurer to pay current bills, and approval of Terra at the Roost's requests for outside music in early July. Trustee Jason Becherer moved to approve the June minutes; Trustee Charles Rogers seconded. Trustee Tim Hopkins moved to approve the outside-music requests; Trustee James Elbe seconded.
Attorney Terry Bruckert reported that a property sale is advertised in the newspaper and that bids will be opened at the August 4 meeting. The board noted that prevailing-wage documentation and lien waivers from Thompson Roofing have been obtained for future use. The meeting concluded following a unanimous vote to enter executive session under Section 2(c)(11) to discuss litigation and to reconvene and adjourn at 7:42 p.m.
