Resident raises safety concerns at Old Route 5 intersection; town to include Route 5 in village study

Town Manager Karen Astley said Route 5 will be part of an upcoming comprehensive village study scheduled for the fall; she noted that because Route 5 is a state highway, implementing physical construction improvements could be more complicated and may require coordination with state agencies.
The Selectboard did not take a formal action on the matter at this meeting but acknowledged the report and the plan to include the corridor in the village study. Residents and the board may revisit specific mitigation measures once the study scope and state coordination requirements are clearer.
