Kathy Fines, the city’s director of human resources, presented an employee-recognition award on June 20 honoring marina leader Dan Lowe for his leadership during a recent ice storm and flooding and for steady service since joining the city in October 2023. "His positive attitude and character during the challenging moments brought encouragement and stability to the DPW team," Fines said as she introduced Lowe's nomination.
Kevin Fisher, Lowe's supervisor and the harbor master, described Lowe's rapid advancement and his role helping the city prepare for and run public events. Council members and staff applauded Lowe's contributions; the recognition was presented during the presentations portion of the meeting and council invited the recipient to remain engaged with city events.
