Residents press town on drainage in Blackledge Circle and Trent Shores

Residents pressed the Town of Trent Woods on longstanding drainage problems during the July 8 Board of Commissioners meeting. Mark Keane raised concerns about Blackledge Circle drainage affecting multiple property owners; Mayor Chuck Tyson said the developer of the affected property had been expected at the meeting but was not present.
Resident Paula Lasitter asked the board "for a progress report on the drainage project and when she might expect something to begin in the Trent Shores area." Maintenance and Zoning official Rich Schreiber replied that "the work would begin in the Coquina area first and could not at this time tell when the funds would be available to begin in the next project area," and he said a drainage project on Carteret, Berkley, Stratton and Gloucester drives was a week behind schedule and now expected to begin the third week of July. The board asked Mr. Boyd (a separate resident) to provide a plan and cost quote for culverts along Devonshire Drive adjacent to Meadows Pond, and Mr. Boyd agreed to submit one.
The concerns raised combined resident appeals for immediate fixes with staff updates that schedule and funding — not staffing — are guiding the sequence of projects. The board did not set a start date for Trent Shores during the meeting.
