At the Sept. 4 meeting Town Attorney Aaron Arnette informed the Board that the Town’s claim and the debtor’s solicitation materials in the Purdue Pharma Chapter 11 proceedings were received and a ballot accompanied the package.
Commissioner M. Shane Turney moved "to accept the thirteenth amended joint chapter 11 plan of reorganization of Purdue Pharma LP and its affiliated debtors" (dated March 19, 2025); Commissioner Billy Joiner seconded. The motion passed unanimously. The vote instructs the Town’s voting agent how to mark the town’s ballot for the court solicitation process.
The report to the Board did not include settlement amounts or distributions to claimants for the Town; Attorney Arnette presented the action as an administrative vote to instruct the debtor’s solicitation agent and the bankruptcy court on the Town’s position. No roll-call breakdown with individual commissioner votes was recorded in the minutes beyond the board’s unanimous approval.
