In superintendent updates, the district reported a $5,000 donation toward a new scoreboard at Raley High School and said Hitachi has supported the program. The superintendent also described challenges getting contractors for a baseball-field repair funded in part by FEMA: initial bids drew no takers and staff are negotiating scope and transport logistics given the district’s remote location and associated costs.
The superintendent said the district has received assurances that certain Phoenix Center repairs are covered by insurance and that contractors have completed mold and moisture mitigation work, drying walls and removing damaged materials. Staff are awaiting formal reimbursement calculations from the insurer and a Thrasher-conducted architect estimate. Also under discussion is the bus garage project; the superintendent said there is ongoing back-and-forth about reimbursable items and train-type specifications that affect cost and timeline.
