During the public-comment period, resident Jayne Elken asked the City to install, or allow her to install, a fire danger sign at the trailhead and offered to cover associated costs and to remove or conceal the sign during lower-risk periods if necessary. Her request was directed to the Council as a public comment item.
City Manager Andrea Rogers recalled that a similar sign had previously been located at the town entrance and recommended coordination with local fire officials to determine appropriate placement and resources; Mayor Witt Anderson echoed the recommendation. The City Manager was assigned to coordinate with interested parties as an action item following the meeting.
