Vice Chairman Bernt introduced RS 33853 as an attempt to address the "growing problem with Kratom," and Representative Erin Bingham said "this would amend the Idaho Uniform Controlled Substances Act to classify mitragyna speciosa as a Schedule One drug." No committee motion was made on RS 33853 during the March 30 session.
The minutes do not include further testimony or debate on RS 33853 at this meeting. Because the committee did not move the measure forward, the matter remains at the introduction stage pending any future motion to print, amend, or recommend.
