The chief credited the officers’ professionalism and proactive policing. "Your proactive policing, keen investigation instincts and commitment to officer and public safety directly result in the recovery of a firearm and tied to multiple violent crimes across several jurisdictions," the chief said, and added praise for rapid medical intervention that helped preserve life. Officer Matthew Powers was also recognized for enforcement metrics and received a county traffic‑safety award for his work.
