Moderator said staff anticipates actual costs between $1.7M and $1.9M and noted the town requested a state appropriation initially for $600,000 that had been reduced to $300,000 in recent legislative action.
Moderator cautioned that if the governor vetoes the appropriation, the commission might move the phase to 2028 or reorder phases. "So if we hear back that that gets vetoed again, this may be an item that we may wanna consider moving out to 2028," she said, and asked the commission to consider contingency options and prioritization between phases.
Commissioners discussed bond and reserve options and agreed staff should return with revised phasing alternatives if the state funds do not materialize.
