Consultants demo new ArcGIS town atlas and field-update tool for Ocean Ridge

Theresa Chapman, program manager with Florida Technical Consultants, demonstrated a new ArcGIS Online town atlas the firm built for Ocean Ridge and described it as a combined public-facing portal and internal asset inventory. “We utilize ArcGIS online to essentially house the GIS data for the town,” Chapman said, showing layers for parcels, zoning, flood zones and building footprints and explaining a link to the property appraiser for parcel detail.
Chapman also described a utility atlas and a field map-update application for staff: crews in the field can drop a map-update point, attach photos and submit corrections that FTC will QA/QC and push back to the online platform. She said the current utility tally includes about 145 hydrants, roughly 16 miles of potable water main and 6 miles of storm mains.
Moderator noted the platform will help avoid duplicated work by linking to existing external datasets and allow staff and the public to see only the layers the town chooses to publish. Commissioners discussed phased updates and next steps to verify locations and materials in the field.
