Crane warned the commission about a statewide property-tax constitutional amendment on the November ballot that he said could reduce the library district’s revenue by about 25%. "In the case of the library district, we're looking at about a 25% reduction in our budget," Crane said, and urged the town to stay engaged about service options if the amendment passes. He also described a separate referendum the county may place on the ballot to authorize up to $175,000,000 in general‑obligation bonds for a 15‑year renovation program, including construction of a new main library.
