Council reopened a required public hearing and voted to pass Ordinance 2026-13, an additional appropriation for the remainder of 2026. City staff told the council the appropriation covers bond payments for the regional wellness center (including a $336,000 transfer from the RDA) and a $300,000 county contribution toward the project. The ordinance also formalized previously discussed line items including opioid settlement funds earmarked for IT professional services (Lexipol) and TIF funds for school corporation equipment.
City staff said they revised the Lexipol contract amounts to reflect an 18-month term: the amounts were adjusted to $28,000 and $21,000 to cover the longer contract period. Council voted to pass and adopt the ordinance after confirming the public hearing had been held and the necessary changes were included.
