District coordinators briefed the board on three student-support programs at the June 15, 2026 meeting. FRYSC Coordinators Jesse Mattingly (WCES/WCMS) and Megan Travis (NWES) presented a brief update on the Feeding America Food Pantry partnership and reported continued success of the local pantry collaboration. Allison Carney, Gifted & Talented Coordinator, reviewed the program’s 2025–26 activities and highlighted an art workshop implemented with retired art teacher Marilyn Peters for interested middle school students. Jarrod Fenwick, the district program manager for GEAR UP, presented an overview of GEAR UP services and their benefits for students and families.
Board members thanked staff for the updates and recognized School Resource Officer Deputy Leslee Wagner for receiving a regional School Resource Officer award from the Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers. The presentations were informational and no formal board action was recorded on these program updates at the meeting.
