General manager Rob Young told the board Exos recommended immediate professional services and installation work for wireless access points and a new firewall. Young said the full scope is roughly $100,000 and asked the board to approve the utility's not-to-exceed share of $50,000; the board approved the allocation.
Board members discussed hardware lifecycles, with Young noting server evaluations and a PC refresh schedule are forthcoming. Young said the utility's allocation may be slightly less than 50% depending on city cost-sharing; the board authorized proceeding with the allocation and staff will coordinate city cost shares and implementation.
