The Krebs Utilities Authority on Dec. 17 approved routine business items, heard a financial update showing a positive five-month net and authorized renting a PAX 880 credit-card terminal for $40 per month.
In the first vote of the meeting the board approved the minutes from the Nov. 19, 2024 meeting after a motion by David Bailey and a second from Connie Poole; the vote was recorded as Bailey: yes, Poole: yes, Heathcock: yes. The board then approved the claims package on a motion by Bailey, seconded by Dan Heathcock; the vote was recorded as Heathcock: yes, Poole: yes, Bailey: yes.
During a financial review, Mike Kern presented the authority’s five-month statements through Nov. 30, 2024. Kern said total revenues for the period were $551,379.07, that a $19,000 transfer was made to the general fund, and that "we have a positive income in the Krebs utility authority is $31,631.75." He told the board the current rural development note payable of $44,634.39 is expected to be paid off by the end of the fiscal year and that a restricted rural development CD of about $71,000 exceeds that note balance.
On new business the board considered whether to purchase or rent a PSN credit-card machine. Dan Heathcock moved to obtain the PAX 880 model on a $40-per-month rental; Connie Poole seconded. The motion passed with Bailey, Poole and Heathcock voting yes.
Chairman Tommy Ray Walker and the board offered no additional comments, and David Bailey moved to adjourn; Connie Poole seconded and the board voted to adjourn.
