Staff said USI charges a yearly broker fee of $65,673 for 2026–27 for services that include coordinating the RFI and negotiating plan quotes, and that USI does not add markups to the annual benefit premiums.
Committee members asked which benefits are brokered (health, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability) and staff said they will review quotes returned by USI and negotiate as appropriate; Tammy said she is scheduled to meet with USI and HR staff to examine provider quotes in early July.
