Selectboard raises concern over Baxter Library access road after heavy trucks use school site

Vice Chair Kevin Gish told the Selectboard that heavy construction vehicles working on the school playground project have been using the newly paved Baxter Library access road and that the town is monitoring possible pavement damage. The board reviewed written communications from the contractor EEI and confirmed the Town owns the land and paved section of the access road; EEI has provided written assurances that any damage will be repaired under the project scope.
Kevin Gish noted the vehicles will require valid Excess Weight Permits to use the access and that the town is now stockpiling usable material from the school site for future road work rather than hauling it away. The Selectboard asked staff to continue to track any rutting or pavement issues and coordinate repairs under the contractor agreement.
