At the July 20 meeting Henry Bonges presented two energy initiatives to the Selectboard, opening with a "plug-in solar" pilot and requesting $9,000 for the town to purchase and evaluate three test systems for public demonstration. Board members questioned whether the Town should buy hardware that could compete with private installers.
Bonges also discussed a potential battery storage project. Town Manager Chris Taylor and Selectboard members emphasized that any battery installation on Town land would require a formal Request for Proposals and consideration of impacts on recreational areas before moving forward.
