Lucy Pierpont, Finance Manager, reported that property taxes were due Feb. 11 and that the outstanding balance for the municipal property tax second payment is currently $130,000. She said payments are still arriving and that mail appears slower than in prior years, so the town expects additional receipts.
Pierpont said the FY26 General Fund is on target, but the Highway Fund shows spending above budget in some areas. She said she and Highway Supervisor Allen Wight are examining options to reduce expenses or delay purchases where possible to minimize the fund’s shortfall and avoid going over budget this fiscal year.
