Anya Colette presented a summary of a public meeting and follow-up advisory-committee discussion on downtown parking at the Infrastructure Committee on April 22, 2026. She said the event used table-based conversations to gather detailed feedback about how people get around downtown and where they park. “People felt like we need to have more and better signage for the parking garage and places that people can park,” Colette said.
Committee members heard specific complaints about two-hour on-street limits and drivers’ inability to extend time without returning to move a car, a concern for diners and shoppers who may need longer stays. Colette also reported concerns about snow removal, resident permit rules and enforcement; advisory members asked staff to review ticket pricing and turnover in front of businesses. Colette said the city’s parking contractor will help prepare a report over the next few months that will analyze ticket and off-street pricing and recommend policy changes to improve wayfinding, turnover and enforcement.
