City engineering asked the Infrastructure Committee on Feb. 18 to forward a DOT overweight-permit agreement for a Route 2 paving segment (Alden Road toward the Herman town line) to full council for approval and signature by the city manager.
Jefferson Davis explained the permit allows contractor equipment that exceeds statutory weight limits to mobilize for state DOT projects; the department typically brings such agreements to council for authorization to allow contractors to access and stage equipment. A councilor moved to authorize the manager to execute the agreement and another councilor seconded; the committee agreed to forward the item to full council where formal approval and the city-manager signature will be sought.
Staff said the item will appear on the next full-council agenda for final action.
