Becky Bartlett (speaker 14), representing the Abenaki club, asked for the trailer to be staged prior to an upcoming tournament as a staging and practice area. Board members and the public discussed alternatives to preserve lake views and minimize damage to turf; concerns included cabling across a pedestrian path and impacts on grass. An apparent delivery company requirement that only its crews move the trailer raised operational constraints: the company would not allow third-party moves and moving it multiple times would add licensed-electrician costs. The board approved a motion to place the trailer by the bleachers, trench the conduit across the stone-dust path (or otherwise provide ADA-compliant crossover), require a secured ramp or trenching solution, and allow the trailer from June 18 through July 14; the motion included a second and passed by voice vote.
The board instructed staff to work with the applicant on final siting and conduit design and to minimize turf disturbance. Selectmen asked staff to confirm whether alternatives exist (different delivery vendor or relocation site) and to ensure compliance with ADA guidance and town safety policies.
