James Lang of 13 Kate Terrace said the court is about 120 feet from his property and that play often begins as early as 5:30 a.m. "The sound of that pickleball ... gets extremely loud, and it's consistent, it's continuous, it's intrusive, and it’s disturbing," Lang told the council and said he had circulated a petition and proposed hours limiting play to weekdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m.–7 p.m., along with a permit requirement for nonresident players.
Tracy Thomas of 28 Charles Terrace said players park along the park path early in the morning and repeatedly block driveways; she said police have been called multiple times and officers told players to keep the noise down but parking problems persist. Council members said they would review the petition and follow up with police and parks staff.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; residents were told the council would take the petition under advisement and staff would explore enforcement and scheduling options.
