Construction updates: stadium soil testing, pool and classroom renovations underway

Rochelle Cox, who oversees construction projects for the district, presented a visual update on ongoing facility work including the stadium remodel, pool project, and classroom renovations.

Cox said contaminated soil was identified during excavation and the site team applied a treatment product; soil testing results were expected the next day to determine whether the material can be sent to landfill. She described planned operational steps — including bringing in large quantities of sand for field work and staging the job to keep student athletics activities functional — and previewed pool and middle‑school classroom improvements, family restroom installations, and signed contracts for two VISTA remodels. The board asked clarifying questions and expressed enthusiasm for the upgrades.
