Milton CPC opens fifth funding cycle; 22 proposals seek $6 million

Tom Callahan reported that the Community Preservation Committee's fifth funding cycle opened with an eligibility-proposal deadline of May 26 and that 22 proposals were received, totaling $6 million in funding requests. Eight applicants presented their proposals to the committee for questions and consideration.
Applicants who presented included Nick Milano (Monuments and Historic Markers; Lock up; Atherton Street Station renovation), Joe Modugno (Historical Markers on Blue Hills Parkway feasibility), Heidi Vaughan and Lori Komlyn (Forbes House Museum, historic restoration of outbuildings), Steve Novak (Milton American Baseball — Mary C. Lane safety and field improvements), Julie Creamer (Milton Affordable Housing Trust — general support), and Liz Matson (Neponset Rowing Club — boathouse tent). The minutes also note that Brooks Field LED Lighting, Winter Valley Solar Lighting, and Houston Avenue Bioswale were invited but did not appear.
The committee will review eligibility applications and confirm the CPC's financial status at its next meeting on July 20, when the application format will also be finalized.
