Interim Finance Officer Brandy McMillan presented the county's July finance report, listing combined bank balances across accounts of $47,215,255.11 as of July 15 and noting June sales-tax receipts (for April collections) of nearly $2.8 million. Staff said final fiscal-year figures will be clearer when June collections are fully processed in September.
The board then handled several appointments: it approved Linda Nichols for a three-year term on the Aging and Planning Committee, reappointed Lanice Lynch and Jenny Triplett and appointed Eddie Jordan to the Board of Health, and appointed Eddie Harris and Ken Gullien to three-year terms on the Tourism Development Authority. Commissioners offered brief closing remarks before adjourning.
