The City Council acted on multiple nuisance-property items at its July 6 meeting after Chief of Police Dan Howard identified four problem properties. Council member Mark Wilson moved to send a second notice to the owners of 422 5th Street; the motion passed unanimously. The council similarly moved to send a second notice to 415 5th Street and to send second notices to owners at 313 and 317 4th Street regarding nuisance trailers; those motions passed 3'0/0.
On a separate motion, Council member Bill Peters moved to abate a nuisance at 407 L Street involving trash and unlicensed vehicles. Council members Peters and Wilson voted aye; Council member Kowalski voted nay, citing the absence of current photos showing the existing nuisance. The motion carried 2' to 1. The minutes record that the city will proceed with abatement as authorized by the council motion.
